Criteria for NHS Membership
By having maintained a cumulative GPA of at least 92 from the ninth grade, Tidehaven
High School students become eligible scholastically to be considered for election into the
National Honor Society. They are then given a student activity information form to
complete as proof that they also qualify in the areas of character, service, and
leadership. The Faculty Council then uses this material, along with teachers'
character ratings of each candidate, to assist with the selection process.
Candidates who are approved for membership sign a letter in which they agree to uphold the
high ideals of the National Honor Society.
